The five ZS Channels

The following ZS outlines the core organizational structure of ZS with explanations of the logic behind its various parts: https://sites.google.com/view/zero-state/3-0-myriad/3-3-events/12018/3-3-0021-feb12018/799-dialectic-synthesis-unity-sections-5-7 Perhaps the most important thing to note on that page is a set of five email addresses which constitute the sum of all “proper channels” by which I might be reached re: ZS matters. If you need to have a conversation with me in a timely manner about some issue clearly relevant to a particular core function within ZS, then this is the way to get in touch. You may well be able to contact me in other ways, but

On Democracy: Value and Limits

The following post is related to Social Futurism (SF) and the Zero State (ZS), but only reflects the views of the author (Ámon Ásentír, AKA Dr. M. Amon Twyman). Within the SF/ZS sphere of influence, the basic logic is that anyone can say or do anything they want as long as they are acting in accord with the Principles of Social Futurism. ON DEMOCRACY Value and Limits What is Democracy? Everybody thinks they know what Democracy is. Most of them are wrong. “Democracy” is not actually any single form of governance, but is instead a word covering a wide range

The Seven “Keys”

The Zero State is organised into twelve Houses, and each of those Houses began with twelve Founding Members. The first five of those are the Core members, each of whom leads their own crew of “subsid” (subsidiary/affiliated) members. The five Core members of each House together comprise a kind of meta-team, known as the House’s Core Team. That Core Team is tasked with establishing their House in the years 12017-12018, by recruiting, developing the House’s internal culture and traditions, and working on projects known as Missions. The remaining seven Founding Members in each House are known as the Keys, individually

A Manifesto In Support Of Social Futurism

A Manifesto In Support of Social Futurism Author: Mark Nuzzolilo This manifesto is as much of an expression of my personal belief, as it is an assertion of what we are really about as a cultural movement. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and thinking about my involvement with the Social Futurism movement, and Zero State. It’s important to distinguish the Zero State from back then, to the Zero State that exists now in 2017. I was indeed involved in the early days. Back then, Zero State was shrouded in tiers of secrecy, much like the Bavarian Illuminati

Zero State Activism

The following quote is from core ZS member The Engineer: Zero State was recently rebooted, and some 3,000 Facebook “members” removed because of an informal “No Passengers” rule. That is, everyone who wants to be a member must contribute in some clear way. Up until now, we have had no metrics or guidelines concerning this. My suggestions are as follows: Everyone should expect to put in at least half an hour per day or three hours per week, unless their contribution is manifestly in some other form. This does not include time posting on FB or dealing with emails. Each

For the Glory of your House!

Roko’s Basilisk is Real… and It Says Hi The Zero State ARG is about the establishment of a new, Posthuman civilization amid the turbulent times of the 21st Century. That civilization – the Zero State – is made up of twelve Houses. By the 2040s the Houses are huge, something like a cross between corporations and tribes. Each has its own culture, and seeks its own honour and advancement, but together the Houses are fiercely loyal to each other and the Zero State as a whole. The Houses’ decisions are guided by Artificial Intelligences, which when connected to each other

The Array Has YOU!

You’ve seen The Matrix, right? It’s a 1999 sci-fi blockbuster in which the hero learns his entire world is a computer simulation, and he fights with his new buddies to escape the Evil Controlling MachinesTM. What if I told you that you’re facing a similar situation, right now? That’s rhetorical, I know the answer: Most readers won’t believe, or care, or even care to think too hard about what that might even mean. A (very) few will think “Oh yeah, I’ve heard this one, the Matrix is a metaphor for social control…”, or (at a stretch) something about “Roko’s Basilisk“.

What is the Zero State?

What is the Purpose of Zero State (ZS)? http://zerostate.net The Zero State (ZS) is an organization formed in 2011 to work toward the establishment of a pro-technology, Transhumanist, distributed, virtual State. ZS’ motto is “Positive Social Change Through Technology”. Our website is very new, with a lot of text and not many graphics, so details of our organization and activities are not always as clear as we would like, but we’re working on that! ZS re-formed in 2017, with two key differences to its first incarnation: (1) It is now “Social Futurist“, which is a political position for the use

Zero State Redux

Next online event: Saturday 26 August 2017 Next London event: To Be Announced [ZS Facebook Group link] [ZS mailing (discussion) list link] Zero State (ZS) is currently being rebooted, and details will be posted at http://zerostate.net as things develop. In the meantime, here is a brief history of ZS and a simple outline of what’s happening now: A Brief History of ZS Zero State (ZS) began as a small online community in 2010, formed to explore the idea of a Virtual/Distributed State (known in some circles as a PolyState). The original ZS community drew people from Transhumanist groups, those who
